With the introduction of ECO4 now in full swing and more councils opening their FLEX applications, heating, renewable and insulation grants have become available to a wider audience. This blog will discuss what grants are available and how you can apply for them. So, if you or someone you know is struggling to heat their homes during the winter months, then keep reading to see how we can help.
What is the ECO 4 Scheme and how can it help?
Over the past few months, the energy crisis and cost of living have been steadily on the increase, with many families struggling to heat their homes, pay their bills and feed their families.
As sudden as flicking on a switch, the nation has found fuel poverty becoming a mainstream economic condition and front-page news.
The latest figures have shown that we can expect an increase in annual bill statements rising from £2000 to more than £3,500 and are likely to multiply again in the new year to over £4000, meaning households across Britain will now be spending 10% more of their disposable income on energy.
Although Prime Minister Liz Truss has recently announced plans to aid households with their increasing energy bills, there are fears that this may not be enough.
Due to this, we at Eco Home Insulation have taken matters into our own hands and have decided to spread the word about the long-standing ECO Scheme and the heating, insulation and renewable measures that can be offered to eligible homeowners, landlords and tenants for free.
The ECO Scheme has been running for years and is currently in its fourth and supposedly final stage (ECO 4). The scheme was designed to offer low income, fuel poor and vulnerable households’ insulation, heating, and renewable measures to improve their quality of living, carbon footprint and EPC ratings to match the current UK minimum standard.
The Government pay companies such as ours to install new measures into your home to bring your house up to current standards and in turn reduce the UK’s carbon footprint.
Although this scheme has been running for multiple years and was originally designed to reduce the UK’s carbon footprint and aid vulnerable households heat their homes, we believe that due to the current economic state of the country this scheme could help many other Britons keep their homes warm and lower bills.
